Someone at the North Texas SQL Server Users's Group - NTSSUG - this past Thursday asked whether or not you could 1) map data as was being done in the Entity Framework presentation, sort of ORM/type style, and 2) somehow use the .Net 4.0 framework in SQL Server 2008 R2 SSIS.  I tried to answer both questions but never got a chance.  I've got some SSIS blogs that actually use Linq ratcheer on this very site. I've already concluded at this point that I don't see Linq or ORM mapping as an option in SSIS.  I discovered that you had to hack it, and it's very, very slow.   For question number two, answers are in the accompanying pictures. First picture is the Control Panel, showing what I have installed, and then a script component in SQL Server 2008 R2 "BIDS"; no .Net 4.0 there that I can see.  Finally in the last image, a view of VS 2010, and in this one there is no BIDS project. Essentially we got shut out of this release, except for the ADO.Net bulk option in the ADO.Net destination for the data flow tab.
