Interesting MSDN blog for the week.

Well, besides at least 30 blog postings that tell us SQL Server 2008 R2 is out (sort of a misnomer by the way as of this second because it's not on MSDN subscriber downloads and won't be per Microsoft for another week or two) and the usual multiple posts by the Siemens Teamcenter folks (if you scan the MSDN blogs, these guys post each blog - by accident I'm sure - at least three times for some reason or another), the Application Platform @ Rohan Thomas' blog posted a cool article from Alinean's cast study on the Total Cost of Administration (TCA) of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle that I thought was interesting.

Go check it out and see what you think.  I always enjoy these, because in a couple of months Oracle will come up with something about RAC or some other feature that blows SQL Server's offering away...the banter back and forth is actually quite fun to follow.  Just don't try and compare anythnig to MongoDB :)

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
