Awesome guide for installing/configuring SSIS
A good friend of mine, Matt Ross, a super-DBA, developer, expert on Windows/VMWare/AD/etc., and teaching associate at North Lake College in Irving, TX, wrote a sweet guide for installing and configuring SSIS [1], and I talked him into letting me post on my blog. Some of the material you are probably familiar with if you have installed SQL Server and SSIS, but some of it might be new to you, especially the sections on SSIS and Oracle and DB2 connectivity. There are quite a few gotchas (especially with Oracle and 32/64 bit), and this guide might give you some tips and pointers, and save you quite a bit of time and headache when you’re doing your next install. I know Matt wished he had his doc when he was going through the exercise.
Check out the link, below, and give me your feedback. I believe that it just might help someone out down the road somewhere.
