The SQL Server Evangelism Team has released a free download for developers that might be helpful on the new stuff in SQL Server 2008 R2. Go to their page at http://blogs.msdn.com/usisvde/archive/2010/02/09/free-bi-developer-training-kit-for-sql-server-2008-r2-released.aspx to read more about it.  You'll get the SQL Server 2008 stuff as well as the updated information for the upcoming release, R2, in a set of videos and presentations.
