My hack for the week!

I keep running into the problem of saving package configurations in SSIS and having it update my configuration table password attribute in SQL Server to *******, essentially overwriting my password every time I jack with the settings. Therefore, I present my hack for the week…I created a trigger on my package configuration table, and when DML occurs it updates the password back to itself. Sweet!

Hey, go ask the guy who resets failed attempts on the AS/400 if this is a hack. Trust me – he appreciates my efforts big time.  It’s bad enough that when you open a Visual Studio SSIS project every time that it has to ping each connection while loading.
