I always enjoy reading anything by Joe Celko. I had the privilege of meeting
Joe and chatting about various things at SQLPass a few years ago. I found it
interesting that, while many people showed up for his seminar, many seemed to
disagree and heckle him. Fact is, Joe is a pioneer in the field of ANSI SQL,
worked on the committee for years, and has contributed and continues to
contribute his knowledge of SQL, TSQL, and set theory as much as anyone in the
industry. (I saw the other day on amazon.com that he's actually coming out
with a "thinking in sets" book. Can't wait to see the chapter on relational
division).
Anyway, if you haven't seen his article, "Ten Things I Hate About
You", please take a few minutes to read it. It's informative, funny, and
points out some of the things that we're guilty of doing on a daily basis.
Enjoy!
