Over eight years ago, I was given a Microsoft Office Curriculum (MOC) teachers manual and directed to a room full of students. At that time, I knew very little about teaching, but was fairly adept at SQL Server. Since that time I have had literally hundreds of students take my courses, many whom have gone on to become IT professionals themselves. As an adjunct instructor, I teach SQL Server on a part-time basis, stressing fundamentals, ANSI TSQL coding, and sound decision-making skills with attention to detail, all important attributes to a SQL Server database administrator and developer.
North Lake College (NLC) in Irving, Texas, one of the seven community colleges that make up the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD), boasts over 62,000 students across all schools combined, and is an excellent two-year offering to prepare the student for the four-year degree and beyond. NLC is a CTEC and Microsoft Academy; read more about DCCCD in the "Who We Are" section of their site.
If you live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and are interested in learning Microsoft SQL Server, contact me for information about the upcoming course offerings at North Lake College.
